Kyaing Tong (Keng Tung)
Kyaing Tong is known for its trekking program to villages of many colorful ethnic tribes. There are many sites to see besides the ethnic tribes in colourful dresses. The tribes known as Gon, Lwe, Li, Wa, Lah Hu, Thai Nay, Shan, Li Shaw, Li Su, Palaung and Akha. Situated in the eastern Shan State and its about an hour flight from Heho and by land 452 km from Inle Lake but not allowed to travel at the moment and 176 km (3 hours) north of the border town of Tachileik opposite Mae Sai (Thailand). And it is 35 km away from Mong Lar, a Chinese border town. The tour can start from Yangon or Heho or Mandalay. Although a trip to Kyaing Tong must be regarded as an adventure tour, the area is of great interest for visitors interested in experiencing a completely different side of Myanmar.
Sittwe
Sittwe is the capital of Rakhine State. It is situated at South West of Myanmar at Rakhine Coast. It has a long coasting bordering on the Bay of Bengal. There is a view point to be enjoy along the coast. Culture and traditional heritage and colourful Rakhine races are filled in Sittwe. Regular flights from Yangon to Sittwe takes about 30 minutes. It is also the gate way to Mrauk U, an ancient city of Rakhine Kings. 2 or 3 stars hotels are there.
Putao
Situated in the north of Myanmar, can reach only by air route. The city surrounded with snow peaked mountains and the weather is cold around the year. Flora and Fauna can be seen in the forest around Putao. The suspension bridges are the typical river crossing in this region. People of the Rawan, Lisu, Khamti-Shan, Jingphaw and Kachin are represented in the region. It is the nearest town to the base camp for Climbing Mt. Khakhaborazi (5889 meters), which is the highest mountain in Myanmar and in Southeast Asia.
It can be reached from Myitkyina by air about 30 minutes and only Air Bagan Airline is available.
Dawei
It is a port of medium importance, sleepy, tropical seaside town only recently connected to the rest of Myanmar. In spite of its remote location-or perhaps because of it-Dawei has become a significant Myanmar Buddhist centre.
It is also near the starting point for a massive gas pipeline project. It will carry natural gas from the Gulf of Martaban to abroad.
Shinmokhti Pagoda, Gathita Yama Monastery, 74 meter long Lyaung Daw Mu reclining Buddha Image & Shinmotehti Pagoda & Shin Datweh Pagoda are interesting to visit.
Places to eat and sleep are not so many choices and only the local guesthouses and small restaurants are available there.
